On Monday May 15, the Gilman Home Economics Club met at the 4H Building in Alexandria, with Vickie Alexander, Delinda Easterly, Anna Jane Thompson, as hostesses There were 13 Members present and several guests. Members attending were: Kimberly Powless, Lee McCLead, Ruby Closser, Gloria Closser, Mary Decker, Vickie Alexander, Linda Nelson, Judy Ellingwood, Dianna Matthew, Barb Poe, Anna Jane Thompson, Delinda Easterly, and Beth Brown.
Grace was led by Vickie Alexander.
Thought of the Month: What does your family do for Memorial Day weekend?
Tip of the Month: Keep strawberries fresher longer by soaking them a few minutes in a mixture of ½ cup white vinegar, and 2 ½ cups water. This gets rid of mold spores and bacteria. Rinse and dry with paper towels, and store in the fridge on a paper towel.
Lesson: There was no lesson but there was a presentation from the Alexandria-Monroe Township Historical Society, with speakers Patty Brooks, and Danny Lamb.
The members enjoyed the spring fling pitch in, and it was a very enjoyable evening.
Members discussed the plant sale coming up for the 4H fair, and fair exhibits. May is also Mental Health awareness month.
The next meeting will be Monday, June 19.
