1958-2023

ANDERSON, IN Jeffery L. Porter, 64, left this earth doing what he loved to do best and that was fishing. His body was discovered Saturday morning, May 13, 2023, on the banks of the Rangeline Nature Preserve where Jeff had died from natural causes with his waders on.

Jeff was born September 19, 1958, in Anderson to Ray and Faye (Utley) Porter. He was a graduate of Anderson High School-Class of 1976. Jeff had been a commercial truck driver at one time. He had worked for Guide Lamp in Anderson and then was transferred to the Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, Kansas. As mentioned earlier, Jeff was an avid fisherman and a dedicated fan of the Indianapolis Colts.

Survivors: Mother-Faye Porter-Anderson, Sister- Rebecca Sears-Anderson, Aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father in 2013 and his brother-Mark Porter in 2010

Services honoring Jeff’s life and legacy were on May 20, 2023 at the Owens Funeral Home.
