I am writing this letter to you to express my upmost appreciation and gratitude for the incredible response to the recent active shooter situation at the high school. The professionalism and bravery displayed by the first responders and law enforcement, led by Chief Montgomery and Chief Cuneo, was truly awe-inspiring, and their quick and decisive actions made everyone feel safe and secure.

In the face of unimaginable danger and chaos, these heroes remained calm, focused, and dedicated to the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community. Their swift and efficient response was impressive. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the response and reunification efforts, from the law enforcement officers who rushed to the scene, to the emergency medical personnel who stood ready to provide care for those needing it, to the educators and staff who worked to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students. I would also like to thank the mental health professionals from Jane Pauley and Aspire that worked with students and staff the rest of the week. These efforts truly embody the spirit of service and sacrifice that makes our community so great.
