Lady Tigers play five in a row

The Alexandria-Monroe Lady Tigers had a busy week, playing five straight, last week.

On Monday, the Lady Tigers began the week strong with a win over Monroe-Central, 9-4.

The Tigers combined for 14 hits on the night. Natalee Morrow and Charleigh Baledge each lead with three hits, both having two doubles. Roundtree and Olivia Jones both had a double. Jones also had a triple. Emmalynn Guillion also had a triple and a single. Ally Duckworth made an amazing catch in the field and then followed it up the next inning with a home run at the plate. Kailyn Flowers had a gorgeous bunt and a single. Cadi McCune pinch hit for Flowers and drew a walk. Baledge started and threw three innings and had five strikeouts. Morrow relieved Baledge throwing the last four with three strikeouts.

On Tuesday, Alexandria fell to Eastbrook, 4-0. Morrow, Roundtree, and McKenzie Fox each had a hit. Baledge threw seven innings and had nine strike outs.

Wednesday, the Lady Tigers regained the win, 13-2, against the Lapel Lady Bulldogs.

Daisy Bivens had two hits and Alli Duckworth had one hit. Baledge pitched two innings and had two strike outs. Morrow pitched two innings and only gave up two hits.

The winning streak continued Thursday when Alexandria beat Tipton, 5-2. Gullion had a two run home run. Roundtree and Ashlynn Duckworth had two hits. Jones, Baledge, and Bivens each had a hit. Baledge threw seven innings and had 11 strike outs.

The girls ended the week with a loss to Hamilton Heights, 10-1. The highlight of the game was a triple by Ashlynn Duckworth and an RBI. Baledge and Morrow both were in the circle with a combined three strikeouts in four innings.
