Tiger Baseball end season, prepares for sectional

The Alexandria-Monroe High School Baseball team finished its regular season playing two games last week and one this week before moving into sectional action.

Thursday, the Tigers hosted the Tri-Central Trogans.

The Tigers jumped all over Tri-Central from the first pitch scoring four runs in the first inning and three runs in the second inning.

Aaron Matthews and Gabe McGuire both had two hits. Braxton Pratt added his first home run of the season. Jay Dillmon pitched all five innings and had seven strikeouts.

The Tigers won the match up, 10-0.

On Friday, the Tigers faced a familiar foe in the Wapahani Raiders.

The Tigers could not get their offense going only putting one run on the scoreboard and that run came in the last inning down 7-0. Walks hurt the Tigers again, as the Raiders walked seven times on the night. Braxton Pratt gave up four runs and Kaed Abshire gave up three. The final score, Wapahani 7, Alexandria, 1.

The Tigers played Tuesday at Bluffton. Sectional play starts Saturday when the Tigers face Eastern at Kokomo.
