Homer’s Helpers Pet(s) of the Week:

What has four paws, one heart, and an unlimited amount of love? A cat, of course! But what if we told you that you could have eight paws, two hearts, and double the unconditional love? Lemonhead and Airhead are a bonded pair that have been with Homers Helpers since February 2024. For a short time at the end of 2024, they found what they hoped would be their furever home but sadly, their adopter got sick. Since then, these two extremely snuggly boys have been waiting for someone who is looking for not one, but two beautiful cats to bring joy into their life. These boys are both neutered and are slightly over a year old. Scan our QR code or apply to adopt at linktr.ee/homershelpersanimalrescue.

Highways and Byways of Monroe Township

Recently, historical society member Eric Freeman shared his postcard collection, which included several unique images of Alexandria. (We shared some with our Facebook followers.) Some of his postcards featured the I.O.O.F. cemetery. One postmarked as 1914 shows a dirt road west of the main entrance. That got us thinking: When did that road become paved and a state road?
