Mayor Naselroad responds to water safety debates
On July 25 Alexandria Mayor Todd Naselroad released an official statement on the state of the safety and quality of the water following online discourse over whether there is E. Coli in the water. In the letter Naselroad stated “I want to reassure the citizens of Alexandria, based on numerous state-licensed water tests and consultations with theCity’s Water Department Superintendent and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, the City of Alexandria’s water is safe for use and consumption.” The full letter can be found linked on the City of Alexandria facebook page or on www.in.gov/alexandria.

Boards facing additional charges stemming from April stabbing
Carl Roy Webb Boards, the man charged with the 2022 murder of Elwood police officer Noah Jacob Shahnavaz, is facing an additional charge of attempted murder for the April 25 stabbing of a prison guard at the Miami Correctional Facility.

Pavement restoration project begins along State Roads 37/13
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced earlier this summer that State Road 37/13 would be closed for a pavement restoration project spanning Madison and Hamilton Counties. After being delayed a week from the original start date, the project officially kicked off Monday with the closure from State Roads 213 to State Road 28.

Anderson’s murder trial continued to January 12, 2026
HAMILTON COUNTY — Thomas Anderson Jr., the man arrested in the 1992 murder of Tony Bledsoe, of Arcadia, appeared in court last week for a pretrial conference. During the pretrial conference, it was revealed that the prosecutor had previously taken the investigation to a grand jury, which did not return an indictment.
