Alexandria Community School Corporation board begins facilities assessment project; welcomes new member
The Alexandria Community School Corporation board began the new year by welcoming former AMHS principal, Tom Johns, as its newest board member. Johns ran unopposed in the general election to fill the seat vacated by Amy Bair. Bair served two terms on the board and decided not to seek re-election. Johns, along with board members Carrie Rowland and Diana Sayre, took the oath of office to serve on the board for the next four years. Rowland ran unopposed to retain her seat on the board; Sayre, won re-election after being challenged in the election by Barrett Key.
American Battlefield Trust Exhibit open to public
Sunday afternoon, members community leaders and members of various area Historical Societies were invited to attend the unveiling of the American Battlefield Trust Exhibit now on display and open to the public in Alexandria.
Summitville Town Council appoints Planning Commission for Dollar General project; Yoder resigns as Council president
The Summitville Town Board opened 2025 with the announcement of Board President, Amy Yoder’s resignation from the board. Vice President, Diedre Pierce opened the meeting, with no board attorney present with the announcement of Yoder’s resignation. When asked to read Yoder’s resignation letter to the public, Pierce declined, however, Yoder shared the document, which is a public record. In the letter Yoder wrote:
