The Commons Theatre will host a dinner fundraiser on Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13 to help the board of directors continue to raise money for theater updates.

Mother, daughter arrested after domestic incident in GetGo parking lot
Saturday night, Alexandria police officers were dispatched to the GetGo at the intersection of State Road 9 and State Road 28 in Alexandria to investigate a fight in progress. Dispatch notified officers there was an active physical fight next to the air pumps on the property.
Alexandria man arrested on multiple child molest charges
After an investigation that began in late February, Madison County Sheriff Deputies arrested Joseph Goode, 76, of Alexandria on multiple child molest charges after two victims came forward with accusations.

ACC offer fall sports; begin unique fundraising venture
The Alexandria Community Center is offering three sports this fall: cheer, football, and soccer. Soccer is open to kids in grades Pre-K to sixth grade, football and cheerleading are open for kids between grades second through sixth. Football will begin this week, and soccer will start next week. Cheer practices are still to be determined. All sports conclude before Alexandria’s fall break, on or before Oct. 4.
Board of Works accepts three APD promotions
Monday evening the Alexandria Board of Works accepted Alexandria Police Chief, Mike Montgomery’s recommendation to promote three of its officers to the rank of Sergeant.
ACSC seeks funding for Facility Dog
The Alexandria Monroe School Corporation is currently seeking funds to implement a facility dog to be shared between the elementary school and high school campuses.

Pavement restoration project begins along State Roads 37/13
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced earlier this summer that State Road 37/13 would be closed for a pavement restoration project spanning Madison and Hamilton Counties. After being delayed a week from the original start date, the project officially kicked off Monday with the closure from State Roads 213 to State Road 28.
