Alexandria Main Street continues to bring downtown together

The Alexandria Main Street Organization continues to work towards bringing the downtown area together. The group just wrapped up one of its fundraising efforts with its recent gold tournament held at the Golf Club of Alexandria. Members of Main Street would like to thank everyone who participated in the event, not just those who came out to play, but to all the sponsors and community supporters. Alexandria Main Street member, Penny Stevens, said, “It not just a game of golf, but it is giving back to the community.”

Lady Tiger Volleyball battles through grueling week; stays perfect in CIC play

It was a whirlwind week for the Alexandria Lady Tiger Volleyball team, who packed in six matches across five days and came away with a 3-3 record. Despite the ups and downs, the highlight was a statement conference victory over rival Frankton, keeping the Tigers undefeated in Central Indiana Conference (CIC) play and atop the conference standings at 3-0.

Red Gold Crush Hunger Saturday gives back to local communities

Red Gold is excited to announce its annual Crush Hunger Saturday that will take place on October 11 in downtown Elwood. This three-part event includes the 14th Annual Run to Crush Hunger, 37th Annual Red Gold Chili Cook-Off and Colts Blue Saturday. For the fourteenth year in a row, the Run to Crush Hunger unites local communities to promote healthy and active lifestyles, while fighting hunger in Central Indiana by giving back to local food banks. The Red Gold Run to Crush Hunger features a 5k run and 1 mile family walk and each race participant will help provide 120 meals to families in need.
