The trial for Carl Roy Webb Boards II, the man charged with the murder of Officer Noah Jacob Shahnavaz, has been moved to Anderson City Court.

Alexandria Lady Tiger Tennis Competes with Heart at Jasper Smash Cancer Invitational
The Alexandria Lady Tiger Tennis team traveled south to take part in the Jasper Smash Cancer Invitational, one of the most competitive and meaningful events of the spring season. Against some of Indiana’s top-ranked programs, the Lady Tigers showcased resilience, pride, and a strong sense of community. More than just a tournament, the event served a deeper purpose: Alexandria’s team wore pink and rallied around a cause close to home, honoring Alexandria Principal Greg Kyle and his family as part of the Invitational’s mission to support families impacted by cancer. The tournament featured an elite field, including top-ranked teams such as Jasper (#1 in District 7), New Albany, and Silver Creek. The Lady Tigers, ranked #4 in District 4, earned a 6th-place team finish and gained valuable experience as they prepare for the postseason.

The Alexandria Lady Tigers tennis team continued its impressive run through the 2025 season, earning back-to-back victories over conference rivals Blackford and Frankton to improve to 10-1 overall and a flawless 2-0 in Central Indiana Conference (CIC) play.

Alexandria man faces Child Exploitation, possession of Child Pornography charges
Austen Mills, of Alexandria, was arrested following an investigation by the Westfield Police Department, Hamilton Council Metro Child Exploitation Task Force. A detective of the task force was assigned to investigate a Cyber Tip submitted by Dropbox, Inc., a file hosting service offering cloud storage of data. The report stated that Dropbox, Inc. had found a user of their service had uploaded a file of child pornography and provided the user information indicated Mills was the perpetrator.

Anderson man arrested after leaving children alone for extended period
Recently, Alexandria police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of W. Washington Street to investigate a domestic dispute. The caller told officers he was having problems with Corey Hollingsworth over children in the caller’s custody at the time that Hollingsworth had left alone at his home in Anderson. The caller a said he was concerned Hollingsworth was coming to the Alexandria resident to get the children, and that he was angry and possibly using drugs.
Alex Boys’ Golf Team stays perfect, moves to 3-0
The Alexandria-Monroe boys’ golf team continued its strong early-season form, notching back-to-back victories over Daleville and Wes-Del to improve its record to a perfect 3-0. The Tigers kicked off the week with a 189-214 win over Daleville on Monday.
