The Alexandria Lady Tiger softball team is off to a dominant 2-0 start to the 2024-2025 season, outscoring their opponents 37-0 in two shutout victories.
The Alexandria Tiger track team hosted the Eastern Comets last Thursday in a hard-fought meet that came down to the wire. While the Tigers fell short in the final score, they delivered standout performances and showed tremendous grit on their home track.

In his second year leading the Alexandria Track and Field program—and 15th overall—Coach Mike Winters is looking to build on the team’s growth from last season. The Tigers saw strong individual performances in 2024, highlighted by Xander Groce qualifying for Regional in the shot put and the girls’ team competing fiercely in every meet.

As Coach Jeff Closser enters his 19th season at the helm, the Alexandria Tiger Baseball team looks to build on last year’s 18-11 record. Despite the loss of five seniors, the Tigers return key contributors, including Will Rowland (Honorable Mention All-CIC) and Mason Fuller (All-CIC), who will provide leadership and experience.

Alexandria Fire Chief, Adam Matson, celebrated his 20-year anniversary with the department on March 21.

Aaron Ice, 46, of Summitville, was arrested on various drug charges following a traffic stop for an outstanding warrant. An Alexandria officer initiated the traffic stop after following Ice’s Dodge Ram pick-up. The officer learned the registered owner of the truck, who was identified as Ice, had an active warrant out of Anderson City Court for theft after running the plate on the vehicle.
