The Church Street Commons Board of Directors is currently trying to raise money to replace the roofs on The Commons Theater and Heaven’s Warehouse. The insurance company will not reup the Church Street Commons’ insurance policy unless the roofing system is replaced.
2025 Alexandria-Monroe High School graduate, Lily Harpe capped off an exceptional high school tennis career by representing her school at the 2025 Indiana Tennis North-South All-Star series. Held at the Pendleton Sports and Wellness Center, the prestigious event brought together 24 of the state’s top senior tennis players for a final showcase of skill and sportsmanship. Harpe was selected as one of only 46 All-Stars in Alexandria history and became the 16th athlete from the school to be honored in tennis. Competing for the North team, she helped lead her squad to a dominant 41-17 victory over the South. Harpe competed in three rounds of doubles play, each with a different partner from around the state, gaining two wins and one narrow loss:

2025 Alexandria-Monroe High School graduate, Jacklynn Hosier capped off her senior year and an unforgettable week that showcased her relentless dedication and undeniable love for competition. Last week, Hosier became the sixth female and eighth overall Indiana All-Star from Alexandria, competing in the prestigious Indiana All-Star basketball series while simultaneously helping the Lady Tiger softball team make school history.

Recently, Alexandria Police Officers were dispatched 600 W. Tyler Street at the Little league baseball diamonds to a fight. On arrival officers were met by two people who stated they were there to watch their children’s baseball games when William Rubendall went after one of them with a baseball bat before retrieving a hammer from his vehicle.
HARTFORD CITY — The sophomores get a lot of the glory and accolades when it comes to the success of Alexandria’s No. 2-ranked varsity softball. But the Tigers might not be sectional champions without the seniors.
The 2025 Alexandria Lady Tiger Tennis team saw its memorable season come to an end last week in the IHSAA Regional Semi-Finals, falling to #4-ranked Westfield, 5-0. Despite the tough finish, the Tigers close the year with an impressive 17-5 overall record, CIC mark of 4-1, and titles as Sectional Champions and Madison County Champions.
A call to assist Madison County Sheriff Deputy to locate a suspicious person led Alexandria police officers arresting Austin Matthew Petty, 25, of Daleville and Katelyn Jeaneen Powell, 24, of Fortville on various charges including Railroad Mischief and Public Indecency.
