The Alexandria Tigers boys’ basketball team continued its winning streak with a decisive 62-35 victory over the Elwood Panthers. The Tigers demonstrated their prowess on both ends of the court in front of a spirited home crowd in the Jungle.
The Alexandria Tiger boys’ basketball team had a tough draw in the county tournament this year. Alexandria drew the #5 team in 4A, the Anderson Indians; and the Indians lived up to that ranking. Anderson had no issue with the young Tigers 100-42.
The Summitville Town Board opened 2025 with the announcement of Board President, Amy Yoder’s resignation from the board. Vice President, Diedre Pierce opened the meeting, with no board attorney present with the announcement of Yoder’s resignation. When asked to read Yoder’s resignation letter to the public, Pierce declined, however, Yoder shared the document, which is a public record. In the letter Yoder wrote:
As the Chief of Police for the City of Alexandria , it is my duty to prioritize the safety of everyone in our community. With winter now upon us, it’s also my responsibility to remind you of the unique dangers that come with snow, ice, and freezing temperatures.
