In a heartwarming display of sportsmanship and unity, the Alexandria Unified Basketball team made history on Friday night by playing its first-ever game against the Elwood Panthers. In a nail-biting contest, the Tigers emerged victorious with a thrilling 16-15 win, bringing excitement and pride to both teams and their fans.
The Alexandria Lady Tigers, ranked #2 in the state, delivered a commanding performance against the Elwood Lady Panthers, winning 63-26 at the Jungle. This victory marks its 19th win of the season as the team continues to solidify its reputation as a powerhouse.

The Alexandria Tigers boys’ basketball team continued its winning streak with a decisive 62-35 victory over the Elwood Panthers. The Tigers demonstrated their prowess on both ends of the court in front of a spirited home crowd in the Jungle.
Alexandria hosted the girls’ wrestling regional last Friday in the Jungle. Like the sectional this is the first IHSAA sanctioned regional. The Tiger Girls’ wrestling team had eight wrestlers who were competing in the regional. Riley Thomas was the only wrestler to win her first round match but fell in the ticket round to advance to the state finals. See all results below:
The Alexandria-Monroe High School Lady Tiger basketball team finished 3rd in the Madison County tournament last week.
The Alexandria Tiger boys’ basketball team had a tough draw in the county tournament this year. Alexandria drew the #5 team in 4A, the Anderson Indians; and the Indians lived up to that ranking. Anderson had no issue with the young Tigers 100-42.
The Alexandria-Monroe High School Boys’ Wrestling Team proudly represented its school and community at the IHSWCA Team State competition this weekend. The Tigers showcased determination and skill as they faced off against top teams from across Indiana.
