ALEXANDRIA, IN – Glenda L. Carmichael, 74, entered into peace and rest on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from her residence following a brief illness.

Glenda was born on July 13, 1949, in Elwood to Ralph and Nellie (Farmer) Clabaugh and has lived in Alexandria for most of her lifetime. She was a gentle spirit and dedicated her life to the care and nurturing of her family. Glenda liked working crossword puzzles and watching any black and white TV classics.

Survivors: Husband-Mike Carmichael-married March 31, 1969, 2 Daughters-Chanette Carmichael-Anderson, Debbie Carmichael-Alexandria. Son-Michael Carmichael Jr.-Alexandria, 6 Grandchildren-Taylor Carmichael, Lennon Carmichael, Johnny Carmichael, Conan Schmidt, Connor Schmidt and Colin Schmidt, Great-Granddaughter-Kaitlyn Schmidt, Nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-Shirley Clabaugh, brothers-Ralph Clabaugh and Jerry Clabaugh, nephew-Jerry Clabaugh Jr.

Services honoring Glenda’s life and legacy will take place at 1 pm on Friday, July 21, 2023, in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria, IN 46001 with Pastor Micheal Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery at Alexandria. The Carmichael family will receive friends after 12 Noon in the funeral home on Friday prior to the service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
