DONNA PIERCE

ALEXANDRIA – Donna F. (Stoops) Pierce, 75, was called home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. Donna fought a long and courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Take your rest dear one, your beautiful smile and sass will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.

Donna was born on July 17, 1948, in Anderson to Albert and Maggie (Cook) Stoops and has lived in the Alexandria area all her life. She was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School-Class of 1966. Donna retired from Delco-Remy in 2000 after 30years of employment. She was also a benefit representative for United Auto Workers Local 662. Donna has been an active member of the Lutheran Church of Our Blessed Savior in Alexandria. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, quilting and was an avid card player. If you knew Donna, you knew that she was always “on the go” and she enjoyed retail therapy very much. But most important to Donna was the time she spent with her family and friends.

Survivors: Husband: William “Bill” Pierce – married January 5, 1985, Children: Amy Heard – Anderson, Amanda (Paul) Surbey – Colorado, Amber (Devin) Myers – Alexandria, Matt Pierce (Marshall) – Florida, 9 Grandchildren: David Surbey, Alisen Surbey, Mackenzie Wallace, Alexis Myers, Madisen Myers, Rylan Knox, Kaedree Knox, Evan Pierce, Mielah Pierce, 3 Great-Grandchildren, Several GrandPets, Niece and Nephews: Dwayne Kerr, Lowell Amos, William Amos, Mary Amo, Special Sister: Jane (Steve) Cline-Ohio, Special Lifelong Friends: the Cronies, the Overmans, the Jones and the Delco Bunch, Several cousins.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Connie Cox, a nephew Christopher Kerr, a grandson Zachary Myers.

Services honoring Donna’s life, legacy and faith will take place at 12 pm on Thursday, August 17, 2023, in the Lutheran Church of Our Blessed Savior, 309 West Washington Street, Alexandria with Pastor Kal Rissman officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. The Pierce family will receive friends after 10 am on Thursday at Our Blessed Savior Lutheran Church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Our Blessed Savior Lutheran Church, the Madison County Humane Society or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (NPCF) with envelopes available at the church.

Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria has been entrusted with Donna’s care and service arrangements.
