ALEXANDRIA, IN – Georganna “George” (Hosier) Warner, 87, entered peace and rest on Monday, August 28, 2023, from the Alexandria Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on George Washington’s birthday (February 22) in 1936 to Wayne and Agnes (Judd) Hosier. She spent the next 87 years sharing love & laughter with her family, friends & anyone else she happened to meet. Georganna was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1955. She retired from Guide Lamp in 1991after 25 years. She was a dedicated Hoosier basketball fan who was rarely seen without her sunglasses, lipstick & a can of pop in an IU koozie. George was an avid walker who could often be found zigzagging down the sidewalks & alleys of her hometown of Alexandria. When she wasn’t on foot, she was in her convertible cruising up & down Harrison Street with a carload of giggling loved ones. While she enjoyed spending time uptown, George was a rural girl through & through. She loved going barefoot, suntanning on the back porch swing & listening to country radio with her husband, Don, of 61 years.
George was up for anything & packed the maximum amount of fun into each day. She loved running around with her sisters, sharing peppermints with anyone, & square-dancing absolutely anywhere. Perhaps her favorite pastime of all was spoiling her children & grandchildren. When she received an “I love you” her response was always “I love you more!”
